Love God. Love People.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. It is clear that that religious people who were in the very face of Yahoshua didn't know or believe who He was.  We can see a few things going on in this chapter.  The elements of being a spectator and also showing up with an agenda.  When the truth is preached it will challenge any agenda that would desire to circumvent the Word of God.  The Lawyer asked Jesus a loaded question desiring to trick Him.  What Jesus replied was the simplicity of the foundation of the Gospel.  Where man has tried to rationalize and interpret God's word to make themselves more important than they are Jesus brings us back to the basics.  Love God with your ALL, and Love your neighbor as yourself.  The fulfillment of the Laws of the Prophets which taught God's precepts are complete when we observe the Greatest Commandments.

What we see happening in the world today is a temptation to NOT honor the Greatest Commandments delivered by Yahoshua.  Disparaging terms today include liberal, conservative and immigrant.  We see Pro lifers not caring about much needed social programs.  We see the Church not speaking out about race reconciliation.  We see offerings being raised but where is truth being taught? Who is making Disciples as Christ commandes?  Everything else is irreleces irrelevant.  

I want to encourage you to stay focused on the Word of God.  Be able to defend your belief. Know why you believe what you believe.  Just as Yahoshua was confident and about the Father's business. He is who our example was.  We are to emulate Christ.  Stop participating in pagan holidays and rituals.  Study and Keep the Sabbath.  Allow Christ to be magnified in your body so that He can transform you and show YOU how to be in the world and NOT of it.
